Archiving Policy

The Journal of Shipbuilding and Marine Technology (JSMT) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of all published articles.

Digital Preservation

JSMT utilizes the digital archiving features provided by Open Journal Systems (OJS) to ensure the permanent availability of its published content. The journal supports distributed preservation and secure storage mechanisms to protect against data loss.

LOCKSS and CLOCKSS

JSMT enables archiving through:

  • LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe)

  • CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe)

These systems create a distributed network of libraries and archival institutions that preserve journal content and ensure it remains accessible even in the event of technical failure or journal discontinuation.

PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)

As part of the OJS platform, JSMT participates in the PKP Preservation Network, which provides free long-term digital preservation services for journals using OJS.

Institutional Archiving

Published articles may also be preserved through the institutional repository of the hosting institution and other recognized indexing or archiving platforms.

Commitment to Permanent Access

In the event that the journal ceases publication, all published content will remain accessible through established preservation systems to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
